Need to Know This Week

Can you help? Licence to Aim and Bullseye Royale

MGAC is running two winter outdoor tournaments (both WA720 + individual matchplay) and we’re looking for volunteers to help. If you’ve never been involved in a tournament before, this is a great opportunity to learn and lend a hand. Here are the things you could do:

  • Help manage matchplay results if you’re not competing
  • Make sure the clubroom is looking flash before the event
  • Help check over our targets and supplies a few weeks before the first event
  • Run the BBQ or help with providing food for sale

Come on, you know you want to help! Please email secretary@mgac.org.nz or talk to Kelly Atkinson to let us know what you can do.
Mark the dates in your diary: Saturday 13 July and Saturday 24 August, and if you’re keen to compete, register on Archery OSA.

AGM

Our Annual General Meeting will be 1pm on Saturday 27 July 2024 at the Mount Albert YMCA, mezzanine room. Please mark the date in your diary so you can come along. This is also a great time to think about how you can get involved in the running of our club.
Look out for more details, including the agenda, via email.

Lac La Biche fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising tournament last Saturday for Kelly Atkinson, Lily Brislen, and Max Maggs who have been selected to represent NZ at the World Field Champs in Lac La Biche Canada. As well as some great shooting, there was bacon, sausages, baked treats and coffee. Huge thanks to all the helpers, and congratulations to all place winners:

If you’re getting itchy that there’s not much on over winter, why not organise a tournament? We have excellent how-to guides on how to run a tournament and it’s easier than you think. Chat to anyone on the committee, or email me to find out more.

Remember to check Archery OSA for Archery NZ target tournaments, and NZFAA (NZ Field Archery Association) for Field events.

Have fun and safe shooting
