Need to Know This Week

It’s Renewal Time!

Spring has sprung and our new membership year is here. Make sure there’s no disruption to your membership by rejoining now.
To renew, look for the renewal email, or go TidyHQ, where you can manage your profile, including your automatic membership payment settings. Log in using the email address and password you used when you joined the club.
Production of the our sparkly red 2024/25 membership cards is underway, so once you have renewed, your card will be at the clubhouse the week following.

It’s BAP on Saturday…
BAP is our monthly opportunity for archers of all abilities to learn the steps in World Archery’s Beginner Award Programme. Come along for coaching and a chance to practice with others as you work towards your White, Black, Blue, Red or Gold Arrow.  Please arrive by 10:30am. Later arrivals may not be able to join in.

…and Achievement Round too…

Come join the Achievement Round this Saturday, 1-3pm if you’ve completed your BAP Gold Arrow or you’re comfortable shooting at 40m or more. The Achievement Round is 72 arrows (12 ends of 6 arrows) starting at your closest comfortable distance. Once you’ve met the achievement score, you can progress to the next distance the following month. Ribbons are free to MGAC members once you meet the score. It’s also a great way to meet other members!

Have you signed up for Indoor Nationals?

MGAC is hosting the Indoor Nationals for Auckland clubs at our indoor range at Massey and registrations are filling up fast.  Held on 21 and 22 September, each archer will choose one of four flights to shoot in (Saturday morning or afternoon, or Sunday morning or afternoon) and they will shoot two WA18m rounds.
See Archery OSA for all the details and to register – don’t delay or you will miss out.

Matchplay Tournament – the Rockin’ Robin!

Hone your matchplay skills at the start of the summer season, with the Rockin’ Robin matchplay tournament at MGAC on 12 and 13 October.  The competition has three parts:
1. Ranking Round-Robin Matchplay
These provide rankings for the Elimination Rounds, derived from the highest number of wins. Drawn placings go to one arrow shoot-offs.
2. Elimination Rounds
Competitive knock-out matchplay. These will likely be from 1/4 Round (depending on archer numbers).
3. Finals Matches
Gold Medal matches in “Finals Style”
Archers will shoot the Open Category distance for their bow type (Recurve 70m, Compound 50m, Barebow 50m). Younger archers are welcome to “shoot up.”
