NEED TO KNOW THIS WEEK

Evenings on the Maunga – Upcoming Tournaments at MGAC
We’re running Wednesday night 720s in November and December (alternating minor and major tournaments). These will be limited target tournaments – i.e. once the 10 targets are full, registrations will close.
Don’t miss the special “pre-sale” for MGAC members – secure your place by signing up before midnight Sunday 8 October using this Google form. The events will be live on Archery OSA, open to everyone, from Monday 9 October.

The season is now officially open!
Mountain Green hosted a fantastic season opening for Auckland District Archery Association last Sunday, and we even managed to get some sunshine! Around 50 archers from across the district came to shoot a Candadian 900 round, and enjoy a BBQ at the end.
Our thanks to life member Mike Smerdon for shooting the opening arrow, and to the hard working volunteers for setting up the range, running the registrations, keeping everyone on the line safe, cooking the BBQ, and packing up at the end. Check out a few photos here.

Congratulations to the Lorne Roodt, Akuhata Norman-Hewlett and Richard Lin who took out the interclub teams trophy for Mountain Green – which means we’ve won it now for three years in a row!

Bringing a visitor to one of our ranges?
If you bring a visitor or visitors to shoot at our indoor or outdoor range, please make sure each visitor pays the $10 range fee. They can pay cash into the cash box, or transfer into the MGAC bank account (we’re putting labels on the cashbox with the bank acct details).

Lost property
The table inside the clubroom is full of lost property – jumpers, drink bottles, finger tabs, jackets, sunglasses, a hat, a bow stand, a quiver, and more. If you recognise any of the items at the end of this post, please take them home.

Barebow Tuning Course (now on Archery OSA)
MGAC member and champion barebower Kerry Hoole is running a Barebow Tuning course at MGAC on 29th October from 1 pm to 4 pm. This is for Barebow archers who have been shooting for more than six months and will cover a range of tuning methods including checking limb alignment, centre shot, matchstick tuning, bare shaft tuning, walk back tuning, plunger tuning and more.

Just $20 for MGAC members, and $30 for members of other clubs (to cover the MAC range fee).  See Archery OSA for full details and to enrol. Entries close 25 October.
