It’s 12 ends of 6 arrows each, starting at your closest comfortable distance. Once you’ve met the achievement score (see below), you can progress to the next distance the following month. Free ribbons to members who meet the score, and it’s also a great way to meet other members!

Target Face: Barebow/Longbow/Recurve 122cm | Compound 80cm

Indoor Range working bee – 4 May, from 10am

We’re preparing for the upcoming indoors season with a working bee at our indoor range. We will need helpers to remove all the old shooting lines and lane markings, lay down the new lines, add new lane numbers and hang the corflute signs.

If you’re an indoor range user please come along to help. If you can, bring tools such as scrapers, meths, and steel wool.

We’ll be starting around 10am, so come any time after that. The indoor range will be CLOSED FOR SHOOTING while the working bee is on.

Congratulations

MGAC member Phoebe Newcombe has been named in the team to represent New Zealand at the World Youth Champs in Winnipeg, Canada in August this year. MGAC’s Henry Bishop was also selected but is unable to travel to the event. Phoebe will be joined by team mates Thornton Wallberg, Zac Campbell, Hector McNeilly, Jack Adams and Levi Matheson. Congraulations to all those selected – we wish you well!

Archery New Zealand Nationals

MGAC archers did us proud at this year’s Field, Clout and Target Nationals last week. Despite some horrific weather at the Field event (resulting in day 2 being called off early), overall the event was a huge success. There were many cries of “Go Mountain Green!” as our members took the podium time after time. Congratulations to all those who participated and all those who took home medals and trophies. We’ll do a round up on our Facebook page very soon.
