Need to Know This Week

Tournament this weekend

The Bullseye Royale tournament is on this Saturday with over 40 archers competing in a 720 round followed by matchplay. There will be no casual shooting available but anyone is welcome to come and watch.

We need a few more helpers to set up/pack down – please reply to this email if you can help.

POSTPONED Indoor range working bee

Thank you to all those who volunteered to help with our indoor range working bee. Unfortunately our new wall shipment has been delayed on the high seas and is now not due to land until late September/early October. We will advise the date for the new working bee closer to the time. In the meantime, we will repack the bales on the compound end of the current wall. We will need a few helpers for this – please reply to this email if you can help.

Congratulations Kelly!

Our past president Kelly Atkinson represented New Zealand at the IFAA World Field Archery Champs in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil earlier this month and came home a world champion!  Kelly joined the 22-strong Black Arrows team representing Aotearoa and competed with over 300 archers from around the world.

Congratulations Kelly…now to prepare for Canada (read on…)

Preparing for Canada

Four MGAC members (plus one in absentia) were part of the seven strong NZ team at the weekend’s training camp preparing for the World Archery Field Champs in Canada next month. MGAC archers Emily Cavell, Kelly Atkinson and Max Maggs (with Lily Brislen there in spirit), along with team managers Fleur Maggs and Janis Brislen had an awesome time at Lakeview and Massey Archery Clubs preparing for the varying conditions they might experience in Canada.  We’re right behind you team as you finalise your preparations.

Club shirts

Free shipping for the new club shirts has now finished, but shirts are still available for purchase, with shipping to your place at your cost. To view the full range and place your order, go to https://www.kapinua.com/en/167-mountain-green-archery-club
