Need To Know This Week

Beautiful Close To Our Evening On The Maunga Series

Our final Evening on the Maunga event, the Matchplay Mashup, was held on Wednesday night. It was a beautiful evening with loads of fabulous shooting, some nail-biting one-arrow shoot-offs and a delicious BBQ.

Huge thank you to our incredible Club Captain Emma Ala’alatoa Dale for her leadership of this 5-event series, along with her dedicated group of helpers, and the judges and DoSs.

Check out our Facebook post for some pics, and here to see the matchplay results.

What happens at international archery events?

This year, several MGAC members have been selected by Archery NZ to represent our country at international competitions, with sponsorship support from our club. Over the coming weeks we will be sharing their reports in our newsletter, so you can learn more about our archers’ perspectives on competing internationally.

This week we hear from recurve archer Kelly Atkinson, who was selected to represent New Zealand at the World Archery Field Champs in Lac la Biche, Canada.  From shooting a PB to visiting the largest mall in Canada, Kelly’s report is a good read.
