Need to know this week

There is no BAP This Week

The first BAP for 2025 is 1 February.

A Few Reminders about range opening hours
  • The range is open every Saturday 1-3pm for our weekly club shoot.
  • Under our lease we are permitted to open Weds, Thurs, Fri, 10am-7pm and weekends 9am – 5pm. These details are on our website.
  • If a MGAC keyholder opens the range during these times (except for the club shoot) they will post in our WhatsApp group.
  • If you have been a member for more than six months, you can apply to become a keyholder so you can open the range yourself. See here for more info.
  • We cannot open on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you want to shoot on a Tuesday we have a reciprocal arrangement with Auckland Archery Club at One Tree Hill – check their members Facebook group for details.
  • Keep an eye on the Club Calendar to stay informed about our scheduled club events. You can find the live calendar on our website (homepage, bottom of the screen) and you can even subscribe to it so you’re always up to date.
  • Make sure you’ve joined our WhatsApp community to see when keyholders are opening the range outside of scheduled event times. Full instructions about our setup and groups are here, and you can click here to go straight to the MGAC Community.
  • Our indoor range is available 24/7.

Signs – where do they go?

Please familiairse yourself with the specified locations for our safety signs. For example, the sign pictured above should only be used on day one of a beginner course, or during a tournament. It should be placed near the gate to the road around the maunga, to direct visitors from the main carpark to our range.

Our committee spent a lot of time debating the best places for our signs to ensure the local community and our club members stay safe. If we put the signs in random places we run the risk of them not being seen, being lost, or members of the community walking onto our range. Even if you aren’t a keyholder, it’s the responsibility of all members to ensure the range is set up correctly.

The safety signage map is printed in the clubroom and available on our Google drive here.

Please also ensure that all signs are collected up and returned to the clubhouse when the range closes.
