Hector McNeilly | Bronze at the Swiss Open 2025 in Lausanne

Congratulations to Hector McNeilly, who brought home bronze in the Compound Men U21 division at the recent Archery Swiss Open 2025 in Lausanne.

A fantastic international result and a proud moment for MGAC.

Well done, Hector!

Congratulations to Yue Wang & Kinsey Cropper | ADAA Clout Championship 2025

Congratulations to Yue Wang (Luna), winner of the Robin Hood Trophy for the first flag hit, with Jeff Kai-Fong and Ian Matheson also striking the flag on the day.

We also heard that Kinsey Cropper may have in fact beaten her very own national record score on the day setting a new personal best. Congratulations!

We’re looking for volunteers!

Love MGAC? Want to be part of what makes this Club awesome?  We’ve got a few volunteer roles available and are looking for members / parents to:

  • Help produce our weekly Newsletter – this is a key role to help ensure our members are kept informed about what’s happening
  • Help with organising social and fundraising events – not just shooting-related events, but also fun and social events
  • Join the Committee – this is for the Secretary role and can be a shared role

If you’re interested in any of these, or just curious to find out more, please email Secretary@mgac.org.nz

Upcoming Schedule Updates

Please note a few changes to our usual range events and timings this week:

• Thursday 6 November, 5:00–7:00 pm – Small private event with 6 archers using 2 lanes.

• Saturday 8 November, 10:45 am – Beginner Achievement Program (B.A.P.) is on!

• Sunday 9 November, 11:00 am–1:00 pm – No Youth or MAGS coaching, as our coaches will be attending a Coaching Workshop with Jan Lees at Crave Café, Morningside. All coaches are welcome: please RSVP. The Young Adult group may run a self-directed session during its usual time.

Thank you for your flexibility, and enjoy another great week of shooting!

Member Spotlight Series | Get Involved!

Our Member Spotlight Series celebrates the people who make MGAC special; from new archers finding their rhythm to experienced members sharing their passion for the sport.

It’s not just about shooting, we’d also love to feature those who give their time through coaching, being an official judge, volunteering, maintenance, or helping at events and all the in betweens.

Every story shows the heart of our club and inspires others to get involved. If you’d like to be featured (or nominate someone), we’d love to hear from you!
