Trans Tasman Team Training at MGAC 30 / 31 August
MGAC’s outdoor range will be hosting the NZ Trans Tasman (TT) team training camp on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August. The Trans Tasman Challenge is a biannual NZ/Australia youth tournament in Christchurch in the September school holidays.  The training camp is an opportunity for all NZ’s team members to come together in advance of the tournament.

The TT team will be at our range from 9-5 on Saturday and 9-1 on Sunday, holding talks and team building under the gazebos, as well as getting some shooting in. There will be only a few times over the weekend when the range will not be available for casual shooting, as detailed below. We are proud to be able to share our range with this group of talented young archers.

Saturday 30th August

  • 11am – 1pm: TT will be using all lanes – NO CASUAL SHOOTING
  • 1pm – 2.30pm: Club shoot – all lanes open
  • 2.30 to 4.00pm: TT will be using 6 lanes, casual shooting available alongside

Sunday, 31st Aug

  • 9 – 10.30am: TT will be shooting alongside the Youth LIne – NO CASUAL SHOOTING

During the event, TT will have gazebos set up for talks and lunch.

This is my last edition as your MGAC newsletter editor. You may well see a new format and perhaps a new frequency in the future. Thank you for humouring my sometimes random choice of images and copy.

Remember: you an always find out what’s going on at our ranges by checking the calendar at the bottom of our website homepage (and you can even subscribe to it so it flows through to your own calendar).

Phoebe and I are off to Canada on Thursday with the rest of the NZ Youth Worlds Team – you can follow the team’s progress via Archery NZ’s Facebook / Instagramaccounts (with yours truly tapping out the updates).
