Need to know This Week
Good luck Izzy, Lorne and Nuala!
MGAC members Izzy Matthews, Lorne Roodt and Nuala Edmundson are travelling to Singapore this week to compete at the World Archery Asia Cup Leg 2 (along with teammates Finn Matheson and Julia Harrison) . The competition runs 15 – 20 July. Keep an eye on the Archery NZ Facebook page as they may post a link to follow their progress. Go team!
Used target blocks (danage) for sale
If you’ve volunteered at a recent MGAC working bee, or you help out via our maintenance group, you qualify to purchase a block of our used danage. There are 11 blocks for sale at $10 each (limit of one block per member). Come along Sunday 15 June, 9am, first come first served ONLY to those who have volunteered (please be honest!). Look for James Bishop.
Foundation Coaching Course
River Glade Archery Club is hosting a foundation coaching course – an instructor level accreditation appropriate for school camp supervision, Have-a-go day events and club beginner courses. It will cover the basics of range safety and entry level coaching skills.
Saturday August 23, 9am – 4.30pm (approx)
Trinity St Paul Union Parish Church Cambridge Hall, 43 Queen Street, Cambridge. These courses fill up fast, so register today via this Google Form if you’re interested. (Even if you have registered with Archery NZ that you’re interested in coaching, make sure you fill in the registration for this one otherwise you may miss out.)
Can you help at the ADAA Indoor Champs?
MGAC will be hosting the Auckland District Archery Association Indoor Champs at our indoor range in Massey on 9 and 10 August. Before entries open we’re looking for some MGAC helpers who can help organise this tournament. If you’ve never helped with a tournament before, this is a nice easy one to start on! Please talk to any member of the committee, or email secretary@mgac.org.nzif you’re interested.
Cold? Get a MGAC hoodie!
MGAC branded hoodies and zip up hoodies are now available, and are a snuggly addition to your winter wardrobe. Choose from a bottle green or dark grey traditional hoodie (available in unisex or kids’ fit), or a dark grey zip up hoodie (available in mens’ and womens’ fits).
Order yours today! Go to Kapinua to view the rull range and place your order.
